This page explains what data the cyclhop.be website collects, why, how long it keeps it, and what you can ask about it.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is the Cycl’hop collective, represented by Olivier Janquart, Cyran Yasse and Maxime Dehon.
Address: Rue de Wanfercée-Baulet, 5A, 6224 Wanfercée-Baulet, Belgium.
Contact: info@cyclhop.be.
2. What the site collects
The site has no member area, no comments, no advertising and no analytics. As long as you simply read the pages, nothing is recorded about you.
The only data collected is collected when you send the contact form:
- your name and your email address (required);
- your phone number, if you give it;
- the subject of your request, the vehicles you are interested in, and the content of your message;
- the date and time of your consent.
To limit automated submissions, the site also keeps a fingerprint of your IP address: the address itself is never stored, only a string of characters computed from it, and the original address cannot be recovered. It is used solely to count submissions from the same origin within an hour.
3. What it is used for
- Answering your request (quote, test ride, repair, question). Legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the box on the form.
- Protecting the form from automated submissions. Legal basis: the legitimate interest in keeping a usable form.
Your data is not sold, not rented, and not passed to anyone for commercial purposes.
4. Who sees it
It is consulted by the members of the Cycl’hop collective, and stored with our technical providers:
- Netlify, Inc. (site hosting), United States, served from Europe;
- Neon Inc. (database), servers located in Frankfurt, Germany;
- Plus Five Five, Inc. / Resend (email delivery), United States.
Transfers to the United States rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
5. Cookies
The public pages of the site set no cookies at all: no analytics cookie, no advertising cookie, no third-party cookie. That is why you see no consent banner.
A single cookie exists on this site, and only in the administration area reserved for the team: it keeps a session open after sign-in.
The “Why a véli” page contains a video hosted by YouTube. It appears first as a plain image: as long as you do not click it, nothing is requested from YouTube and no cookie is set. If you start playback, Google’s terms then apply.
6. For how long
Requests received through the form are kept for at most three years after the last exchange, unless a purchase or a contract requires longer retention. IP address fingerprints serve an hourly limit and are not used beyond that.
7. Your rights
The European data protection regulation (GDPR) lets you request:
- access to the data we hold about you;
- rectification of anything inaccurate;
- erasure of your messages and your data;
- restriction of, or objection to, the processing;
- portability of your data, in a machine-readable format;
- withdrawal of your consent at any time, without affecting what was done before.
One address for all of this: info@cyclhop.be. We reply within the month.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you may refer the matter to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — autoriteprotectiondonnees.be.
